Director – Editor – Writer Victor Mignatti creates feel-good commercials, comedic spots, feature films and music videos as well as documentaries and branded films noted for an honest cinema-verite style coupled with intimate and compelling interviews and testimonials. He is often called to elicit authentic scripted performances from real-people.

Broadcast and web work includes spots for SlimFast, Estee Lauder, Macy’s, Major League Soccer, Hastens, CustomInk, IDB Bank, Bloomberg, Kiss Nails, People’s Choice Awards, PBS, History Channel, ION TV, Clearasil, Florida Lottery and Life-Savers. Corporate documentaries include the award winning films ACLU: 75th ANNIVERSARY, celebrating the 75th year of the American Civil Liberties Union and GMHC: A PORTRAIT, a look at the fabled AIDS service agency. Television work includes multiple seasons directing and producing the MTV hit series THE REAL WORLD (People’s Choice Award nomination for THE REAL WORLD NEW ORLEANS) .

In the realm of comedy, Mignatti received a Grammy Award nomination as director of R. Kelly’s TRAPPED IN THE CLOSET 13-22, distributed and broadcast by IFC. This outrageous music video “hip-hopera,” which the New York Times called “extraordinarily entertaining,” was the Billboard #1 Platinum music video DVD for 5 weeks straight. Mignatti wrote and directed the Outfest audience award-winning feature romantic comedy BROADWAY DAMAGE which critic Rex Reed called, “One of the best American Independent films in years.” His 2012 release, the feature documentary THIS TIME, is a music-driven portrait of six recording artists including Elvis Presley back-up singers, The Sweet Inspirations.

Recent music videos include projects for Italian label Apogeo Records artists Andrea De Rosa and Ben Slavin.

Currently, he is developing two feature film projects from his original scripts: CRITTER & THE BITTERS, a dramatic comedy of mid-life crisis, gentrification and class-warfare and MR. OLMSTED KNOWS IT ALL, a story of obsession and forgiveness.

He brings to his work a solid post production background as an editor in a variety of genres. He most often edits his own work and is also available for bookings as an editor only.

The work is in the permanent collections of the UCLA Film and Television Archive, The Paley Center for Media, the Museum of the City of New York and the Clinton Presidential Archives. He studied film at New York University and acting at Circle in the Square. Currently studying acting at The Studio and Italian language at Scuola Italiana di Greenwich Village in NYC.
